BOOM FESTIVAL BAZAAR

This online marketplace is born amid the Covid-19 pandemic. A whole independent culture is at risk and the need for a new model is more important than ever. 

Therefore Boom Festival, a biennial festival that gathers free spirits from all over the globe, developed a brand new collaborative project with small producers and craftspeople. Inspired by the festival’s flea market, and the wide array of artists within Boom. 

The intention is to practise an alternative way of trading products within a community of like-minded beings, thus contributing to the creation of a new economic model. 

This drives the Bazaar’s policy, which ensures: products are ethically sourced, workers are fairly paid and items are made with a standard of high quality

By doing so, we want to create a non-mainstream system, based on responsible supply chains, with the well-being of people and planet at the very core. Our ultimate aim is to inspire a responsible lifestyle.

Boom Festival Bazaar operates within a specific sustainability framework. For us, sustainability results from the rippling effect of projects that create a positive impact on society and the planet, ultimately bringing about land regenerationsocial and cultural transformation.

In the act of a purchase, this translates into making sure you have all the information at hand to make a conscious decision.

A sustainable purchase is one that answers to a necessity, prioritises products that come from an ethical source, products that are made to last, ensures fair payment to workers and respects the planet’s natural cycles.

Within Boom Festival Bazaar you can find responsible brands from various countries. At the date of launch, our community is made of 63.5 per cent Portuguese brands. All products available on Boom Festival Bazaar are made respecting people, animals and the planet.

Brands on Boom Festival Bazaar share information on their production processes and products as transparently as possible. Both brands and products are thereafter evaluated by the points of view of economic, social and environmental sustainability.

All our community members are evaluated via our personalised Responsibility Survey. All members must honour the principle Made With Love, in addition to at least one further principle, which corresponds to their own brand values.

We developed our personalised Responsibility Survey with small brands in mind, who often find it challenging to obtain costly certifications. The survey serves as an in-depth study of operations and production processes to guarantee each member's compliance with our Responsibility Principles.

Sustainability for us means having a positive impact on both society and the planet. A reality where the activity developed by any sort of organisation will pursue adding value to all stages of the supply chain, end-use and end-of-life.

Boom Festival Bazaar deducts a commission of 25 per cent from each sale of products by founding members, who joined the project at the very beginning in 2019.

All brands joining this community from 2020 onwards have a 30 per cent commission deducted from each sale. The commission is calculated before tax.

Brands that have a social mission to empower small communities on the outskirts of cities in Portugal get a reduced commission.

The Boom Festival Bazaar commissions are used to pay our Bazaar team wages, staff training, online shop rental commission, gateway payment fees, photoshoot sessions, video production and other administrative costs.

Part of this commission is donated to the wildlife recovery center of Castelo Branco, Portugal, named CERAS.

COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) INFORMATION

All items active in our marketplace are available. On every product page we share estimated handling timeframes (expressed in working days). 

Each product delivery timeframes vary from each brand and each delivery carrier responsible for bringing the products to your doorstep.

In case there is any specific information regarding Covid-19 delays or precautions, this information will be clearly visible on the product page of the product in question. 

If you have any questions, please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

There are no delays regarding handling timeframes, however as it is challenging to control shipment services, we cannot guarantee that there won’t be any delays during shipment.

There is currently no evidence to show that Covid-19 can spread via products. According to the information at hand, it is safe to receive packages.

We continue to closely monitor all government and Public Health advice and health safety guidelines and will let our community and citizens know if anything changes.

PLACING YOUR ORDER

You may pay with Visa Credit, Visa Debit, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay (only on Safari browser) and Bitcoins.

Not to worry! Sometimes it takes a while before the order confirmation enters your inbox. Make sure to also check your email’s junk mail/spam.

If you don’t receive your order confirmation within an hour and you can’t find it in your junk mail, please reach out to our team and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

If your order hasn’t been sent yet you can correct them. Nevertheless, our team is here to support you. Please contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

You can purchase a gift card on our Boom Festival Bazaar website HERE.

Then you will receive an email with your gift card and one unique code, to be used at the check-out, after choosing the products to get. 

If your order is over the value of the gift card you will be asked to pay the difference. If the value of your purchase is below the value of your gift card, you will be able to use the difference on your next purchase.

SHIPPING & DELIVERY

Shipments are handled by each brand individually. The brand whose product you purchased will ship the items you chose directly to you. On every product page we share estimated handling timeframes (expressed in working days).

If your order has several products from several brands, you will receive more than one package, as many packages as many brands you have ordered from.

Each brand handles their own shipments, so they have their own package delivery carrier, with different shipping fees and their respective delivery timeframes. Therefore, the shipping fees and delivery timeframes may vary from brand to brand.

Please note that some of our brands (Community Members) have set their shipping rates by volume. This means that purchasing several items, may result in the same shipping charges as purchasing just one.

Some Community Members choose to develop their shipping rates in this way in an effort to reduce their carbon footprint.

Please check the information available on Delivery Timeframes. You’ll be able to check the associated shipping fees  on the check-out of your order, once you have confirmed your intent to purchase in your cart.

Yes, that is possible, as brands send their orders themselves. You can find this information on the ‘Shipping’ tab, once you have confirmed your intent to purchase in your cart.

Products are shipped worldwide. However, each brand defines separately where they send their products. Therefore, shipping options can vary between brands.

You can find information on shipping fees and delivery timeframes on the check-out of your order, once you have confirmed your intent to purchase in your cart.

No. Some brands choose not to sell worldwide as they prefer to mitigate their carbon footprint. Others sell items, such as food for example, that would suffer from extensive travel. Others choose not to sell worldwide when shipping costs exceed the price of their items.

Once you have completed your purchase it is not possible to cancel your order

Our team at Boom Festival Bazaar is here to help you should you require any support. If you need to cancel or change your order, please reach out promptly so that we may look into your request.

Prices displayed on the website include taxes. When you proceed to purchase your order, shipping fees will be included on the final price.

Please note that customs fees may be applied to your order. These custom fees are not included in the final price, depending on what country you are ordering. The shipping country is indicated on each product page of the Boom Festival Bazaar.

We do not ship to multiple addresses per order. Please place a separate order for each destination, if you would like to ship to multiple addresses.

Each brand is in charge of their packaging, though Boom Festival Bazaar highly recommends that all members of the community use biodegradable or reused materials.

Each package comes with a Boom Festival Bazaar sticker to identify our orders. Our stickers are made of FSC-certified offset white premium-quality machine-finished woodfree paper.

RETURNS, EXCHANGES AND COMPLAINTS

We hope you fall in love with the products you ordered from Boom Festival Bazaar! 

However, if the product is not what you expected, you have the right to return the product within 14 consecutive days after receiving it.

The product must be unused, re-sellable and, if possible, in its original packaging.

All returns must be made directly to the brand you ordered your item(s) from. When willing to return the product, please fill in our return form. After you have sent the return form, you will receive information on where to return your product to. We kindly ask that you wait for our contact before returning your order.

Be sure to include your name and the order number on the return package. Citizens are  solely responsible for the return's shipping fees.

If the item you received was defective or damaged  we will refund you the full value of your order, including shipping costs, and organise the returning the item to the brand.

We can offer a refund as a Boom Festival Bazaar Voucher, to spend in any item in the Bazaar, or it can be made to he same method of payment used in your order (credit/debit card, Bitcoin, etc).

You will be responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning your item and shipping fees for a new item.

If the item you received was defective or damagedwe will refund you the full value of your order, including shipping costs, and organise the returning of the item to the brand.

You have the right to exchange your product within 14 consecutive days after receiving your order.  The item(s) you would like to exchange must be shipped back to the brand you ordered it/them from. If you would like to exchange your item please contact us through our return form HERE.

You will be responsible for the shipping fees involved in returning the item and getting a new one, unless otherwise stated.

The product must be unused, in re-sellable condition and, preferably, in its original packaging.

Your new item(s) will not be shipped until the brand has received the item(s) you returned.

If you wish to complain about a product, please fill out our contact form.

If the packaging of your order appears to be damaged at delivery you should not accept it. 

If the item you received is defective or damaged, please notify us immediately at bazaar@boomfestival.org

If we do not receive a claim within 14 consecutive daysafter your order was delivered, we cannot consider the refund. After we receive your request we will give you all the instructions needed.

Each brand has their own size guide regarding sustainable fashion and some of them don’t provide this information. If the brand has a size guide, please find the size guide as the last picture of each product.
