    Brand Story

“We founded KochxBos Gallery in 2005, with the mission to establish a controversial, colorful, avant-garde gallery in the center of Amsterdam. We are committed to new and cutting edge art. Rewarded as one of Top Ten independent galeries by The Guardian, we provide a stage for artists to explore their ideas of tolerance and liberation in art.

With artists like Ray Caesar, Claire Partington, Dadara and Sarah Maple we contribute to various challenging trending topics. When visiting the gallery you will be surprised by the high class alienating paintings and figures.

KochxBos Gallery aims to serve and promote artists that add an intellectual and/or aesthetic value to present time. This can be a search of the (un)conscious motives of human nature - Ray Caesar, Martine Johanna, Meryl Donoghue, Zoe Byland, the emancipation of our society - Sarah Maple, Claire Partington, Dadara or experiments in visual perception - Bethany de Forest, Ciou.” (Hans & Esther)

    Purpose & Mission

“The gallery tries to astonish its audience with different and surprising views on who we are as human beings. To name a few, Claire Partington shows historical ceramic figures imparting intelligent comments on our time, while Feminist activist Maple brings us sometimes provoking insights on different cultures. The artist Dadara gives us different perspectives on social media and our world while Michel Houellebecq's Jed Martin makes us believe that describing art can be even more powerful than the visual art itself.

KochxBos Gallery invites you to enter an art world full of ideas and artists that visualise these in a beautiful surprising way.

In parallel to the gallery we also publish books, like 'Open your Mind - So we can use your data' by Dadara.” (Hans & Esther)

    Method of Creation

"For us, Dadara has always been a part of Amsterdam. When we lived the city life in the late nineties, his colourful creations were all over town. You simply couldn't miss Dadara.

We were exploring new grounds at KochxBos Publishers when he popped up at our gallery in 2015 with lots of work he wanted to share. New work!

Dadara had planted many of his wild ideas in the Nevada desert, which had never been so fertile. Bold, mind-blowing experiences. There was only one downsite: all his recent projects had a temporary character. But his art, and the story behind it, deserved a bigger audience.

Hence this astonishing book, which is a truly collaborative creation. It took a full year to select the best work and the wildest ideas, resulting in this career-spanning retrospective.

Now it is time for you to enjoy this body of work. A wonderful overview of Dadara's art and a small glimpse into the mind of its creator. Enjoy the ride." (Hans & Esther)

    Use & Maintenance

“Books can be handed down generations and cherished various lifetimes. Keep our book in a cool place, away from direct sunlight and ideally at an average of 40-50% relative humidity.” (Hans & Esther)
