      Brand Story

      "I am a man on a quest for elevated consciousnesses through natural life experiences and introspections. A student of life and true soul skater, despite all my falls.

      I grew up in Lima, Peru until the age of 17, where I was involved in 80’s skateboarding, 90’s surfing and street gang destructive activities. I eventually moved to Canada to study art for many years. Today I am based in Montreal, where I work out of my home studio ‘The Positive Portal’.

      My art is rooted in the skateboard culture I have been a part of since a young boy, as early as 1986, when I would draw my own board graphics. By the time I left school I focused on fine art done on broken skateboards, to give new life to defeated wood. That eventually led me to work in California and in the worldwide skate industry, doing graphics for a variety of well respected brands. " (Chris Dyer)

      Purpose & Mission

      "My style of psychedelic art has made me one of the leading figures of the North American Visionary Art scene. This position has given me the chance to act as a bridge between the spiritual movement and the less typically “conscious” art scenes I am part of, like the street art, and skate art movements.

      Though I appreciate all the scenes I am associated with, I want to break boxes and manifest the ‘Oneness’ I believe is the love consciousness beneath it all. Spending half of my time on the road has made it possible to spread my art worldwide, as I explore many cultures and myself. By now I have been able to reach over 36 different countries, which has been a chance for me to learn so much from a variety of cultures.

      These powerful experiences have helped me create a flavour of art which fuses many cultures into a spiritual oneness of unity within diversity, which can appeal to all, yet is owned by none." (Chris Dyer)

      Materials

      Printed on glossy photographic paper (220 gr) or on water repellent, white cotton mesh fabric canvas (370 gr/m2) with solvent-based, UV curable ink equipment and a satin finish.

      Packaging

      All prints by Chris Dyer will be made-to-order and printed, packaged and shipped by the Boom Festival Bazaar team in Portugal. The print(s) will arrive in a recyclable cardboard package sealed with plastic tape.Please remove the plastic tape before recycling the cardboard box.

      This packaging is the most environmentally responsible way we can guarantee your print arrives safely and the materials can be re-used or recycled.

      Method of Creation

      "I have different things to say at different times. I like to invent creatures that have never existed before and in that way I contribute some imagination into the human folklore. But a general theme of my art, I would say, is “oneness” as I mix so many different world cultures into paintings, so that it has a bit of everything but belongs to none, just like me. I use a multitude of mediums when creating my art pieces. Mostly I use acrylic and spray paint when working on big canvases." (Chris Dyer)
