    Brand Story

“Rebundance believes that, in the totally good future we are building, every living being will have a life with dignity and leisure, relying mainly on renewable resources (solar, wind, rain and good-will, curiosity, compassion, courage...), while living in prosperous, regenerative communities operating systemically and in positive interdependence with other communities.
The Value Cards and the Seeds are a part of and an invitation into this future.” (Livia)

    Purpose & Mission

“We believe abundance is the principle that defines our system boundaries. Humanity needs to evolve to a new level of consciousness, embracing its role of curator of the planet’s precious finite resources. Rebundance has the mission to host a safe space for leaders to co-create a totally positive future. We serve an open community of creative and transformative leaders. We share their values and support their determination to establish life with dignity and planetary resilience.” (Livia)

“The bags which hold the seeds and value cards are made with deadstock material.
Seed token and seed pouch: Seeds and soil are zero waste materials, and regenerative when planted in soil.
Papel de Piedra® is cradle to cradle silver certified, it reduces resource use in its production compared to normal paper, it’s recyclable, recoverable in factory and reusable after being submerged in water.” (Livia)

“We are using Wastebased® compostable mailers, which are non-toxic, dissolve in boiling water in seconds and are compostable if buried in a home compost heap for 30 days.
The bags are made of a modified polymer similar to the material used to coat dishwashers and laundry tablets, which means that it looks like a poly bag, feels like a poly bag, but when you put it in boiling water, you’ll see it couldn’t be further from a poly bag.” (Livia)

    Method of Creation

Joaquim’s design process is integral and in harmony with nature — harvesting seeds to redistribute them in nature and among people to raise awareness for natural ecosystems and in the new form of the token, introducing multiple values. If currency can intrinsically hold the value of life, maybe its impact can be in favour of life.
The seed pouch includes a seed coin, an envelope with seeds and the list of seed species included. And if the future is written in seeds (not in stone) we may very well like to know more about which are the seeds we need to carry into our totally good future in the Mediterranean region:
    Jerusalem sage (Phlomis purpurea)
    Judas tree (Cercis siliquastrum)
    Common myrtle (Myrtus communis L.)
    Sticky samphire (Districhia viscosa)
    Ash (Fraxinus excelsior)
    Laurustinus (Viburnum tinus)
    Juniperus (Juniperus turbinata)
    False olive (Phillyrea angustifolia)
    Scorpion vetch (Coronilla glauca)
    Butcher’s Broom (Ruscus aculeatus)
    Box Elder (Acer negundo)
    Cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa)
    Chickpea (Cicer arietinum)
And what if we could hold these future seeds in a coin — even in a small pouch?
Rebundance created this future seeds pouch together with Joaquim Espada, who dedicates his time to agroforestry: the future seeds pouch holds the real and tangible possibility of a syntropic forest! Whether you hold it close to you as an inspiring metaphor for life or plant them and curate the ground they grow in, these seeds are part of the totally good future we desire!

Aligning values among collaborators is a very powerful move to build trust and establish a common ground for collaboration. There are hundreds of values we can bring to the table! The values Rebundance selected are all essential for a totally good future and for renewable prosperity. These value cards can be combined in various ways and used in many different group dynamics — as a solitaire exercise or in groups of up to 10 people per pack.
The deck of Rebundance Value Cards is presented in a pouch and includes an introduction card and 38 value cards, with cross-referenced values and their polar opposite.” (Livia)

    Use & Maintenance

Sow in a pot at least 20 x 20 cm (the bigger, the better, so that the roots have space to grow). Fill the pot with soil. Place the coin 1 cm deep inside the soil in a horizontal position. Keep a shaded vase or put it in a place where it can catch the first morning sun. Keep the soil moist, but not soaked.

Make sure that the seed site will not be subject to cleaning or cutting actions (you can sow next to an existing bush or tree). Ensure that you sow the coin in the rainy season or, if in the dry season, someone needs to water this soil regularly (the best time to sow is in the first rains of autumn). Place the coin 1 cm deep into the soil in a horizontal position.” (Livia)
