“We are a creative team of three from Lisbon, trained in design and architecture, who found in each other the same drive to explore our artistic skills. Combining our skills in a multifaceted team, our wish is to amplify the possibilities of our creative work.
We met and worked together as freelancers whilst still in college and we all subsequently took the time to experience working in our respective fields. This proved to be a disappointing experience in a many ways, mainly due to the fact that, as creatives, we felt disempowered and unmotivated. Thus we decided to embark on our own journey.
Our daily goal is to find a balance between artistic freedom and customised products, in order to contribute to the happiness of our citizens.” (Maria, Ana & Melanie)
Purpose & Mission
“We aim to approach design from a hybrid point of view: conciliating the artisan origins and the handmade work with digital tools, choosing the best of both worlds: the humanitarian and customised side of handmade on one hand and the precision and efficiency of technological evolution on another.
We would like to become a recognisable brand, known for its quality customised, environmentally conscious and approachable creations.” (Maria, Ana & Melanie)
Location of Creation or Assembly
“We work mainly with wood and derivatives (plywood, MDC, etc.), but also with slate, resin, stone, wooden cardboard, paper, carton, acrylic, cork, and silver.” (Maria, Ana & Melanie)
“Our packaging consists of recycled paper bags and cardboard boxes with our logo. When fragile, we add bubble wrap.” (Maria, Ana & Melanie)
Method of Creation
“Our work reflects the flexibility and amplitude of the fields we master: we produce from conception to execution.
We work with personalised design, combining our artistic background with carpentry skills and laser cutting and engraving technology.
Most of our products are made from scratch by our team using natural materials, whenever possible. There are some products we are not able to produce on our own, for example, stone and cork, which we buy from Portuguese suppliers, guaranteeing that the products are also made in Portugal and that we are helping local businesses.
Regarding shipment, we utilise standard mail. When in Lisbon (centre), we hand-deliver the products, if preferred.” (Maria, Ana & Melanie)
Use & Maintenance
“For every wooden piece that doesn’t have a coating we advise the use of cedar oil to hydrate or clean the wood. Please don’t use alcohol or nail polish remover on our resin products — use cedar oil or any other wood cleaning product.” (Maria, Ana and Melanie)
