    Brand Story

“We spent a lot of time in the tropics, where there is a need for light-weight rain jackets, just as much as in the UK or Europe, where it can be sunny one minute and raining the next. We wanted to mirror the joy of the sun with the joy the planet feels when it rains. We need both and we want to celebrate both. We wanted to give people a way to express joy with colour, in the rain.

When we create new prints we tap into our inner wild and reflect different aspects of the environment, front the sun to the waves, from the trees to the flowers, and hope that people connect with them in a way that fuels their connection to nature wherever they are in the world.” (Hannah & Jack Edwards)

    Purpose & Mission

“One of our greatest joys of having Insane In The Rain (IITR) is getting to collaborate with other amazing artists, from photography, to film, graphic design to visual media, everyone we work with to deliver the IITR story becomes part of the story and part of our IITRr family.

Our mission is to build the best product, cause no unnecessary harm, use business to inspire and implement solutions to the environmental crisis. All our lines are living lines, this means we print jackets as and when we feel a need to, which feels more aligned with our sustainable mission. Sometimes we will pause a print for a while and reprint it further down the line, the jackets become editions, which encourages people to buy consciously and for longevity.

Our prints are season-less, which encourages stores to never have to put the brand on sale. In this way of producing we feel more free and playful, and hope to pass this energy on to our customers who are investing in both a great product and a great philosophy that they become part of.” (Hannah & Jack Edwards)

  • Location of Creation or Assembly

    Taiwan and Portugal

    Materials

“RPET (recycled plastic yarn) made from recycled plastic bottles, otherwise destined for landfill.” (Hannah & Jack Edwards)

    Packaging

"Self fabric shipping bags and recycled cardboard cylinders.

    Method of Creation

“We produce the bulk of our jackets at source, in Taiwan where the recycled yarn is made. We ship all our finished jackets to Europe in large self fabric sacks, in order to eliminate any single use plastic from the entire production and shipping process. The jackets are then posted out to customers in recycled cardboard tube packaging, this unusual shaped packaging was a solution we created in order to eliminate the need of using plastic delivery bags.

We ask customers to return to us their jacket at the end of life so that we can upcycle it and offer them a 20% discount on a new jacket.” (Hannah & Jack Edwards)

    Use & Maintenance

"Wash with soap and a damp sponge (cool water).
