    Brand Story

"I founded HAIIRO in Lisbon, Portugal in 2018. HAIIRO means grey in Japanese. I chose this word because my dream is to combine dualities such as: art and fashion, masculine and feminine, light and dark, wild and mild, to place ourselves in an area of versatility." (Susana Gonçalves)

    Purpose & Mission

“Our mission is to give every woman a chance to reveal a signature flair that honours both her physical and mental strength. Our collections always embrace a twist of classic style with an urban Rock & Roll look. We produce slow fashion traded fairly with specialists that we know and care about. We believe in high quality so every piece is carefully developed with attention to every single detail. All our collections are limited editions and each piece is handmade and will last you a lifetime.

We work with families that we know and care about. All our workers are specialists in manufacturing clothing and footwear. We follow every step of the production, from the drawings, patterns, prototypes until the final product. We certify that all our products are produced responsibly." (Susana Gonçalves)

  • Location of Creation or Assembly

    Bali, Indonesia

    Materials

"We always try to use as many natural materials as we can, such as bamboo and cotton, but sometimes we include synthetic materials. We also use goat leather and sheepskin. Most of our fabrics only come in white or off white (natural colors). We then wash all our fabrics before any process and usually dye them black." (Susana Gonçalves)

    Packaging

    Recycled plastic bags.

    Method of Creation

"I start by designing all the pieces through hand drawings, including all the metal pieces (zippers, studs, etc.). I then hunt for fabrics and only after I find what is the most fitting for each item I idealised, I alter the designs slightly to fit perfectly with the chosen fabric.
I then bring the drawings and the fabrics to my team, who make the real magic happen. I always accompany the process until we reach the final samples." (Susana Gonçalves)

    Use & Maintenance

"All our pieces should be hand washed in cold water. You can find all the maintenance details on the tags of each piece." (Susana Gonçalves)
